06:07 pm - Lazy and lucky
One thing I love about Malaysia since coming back here is the amount of public holidays we get in a year! February alone, we celebrated Chinese New Year, Federal Territory Day and tomorrow, it is Prophet Muhammad's birthday. Plus my birthday, which makes it all better lol!

But seriously, for the first week of Feb, I must have only worked two days and then it was 5 days holiday including Saturday and Sunday.

Yup, February has got to be the best month of the year. I think I'm getting spoiled.

02:02 pm - RIP and too busy crying
I can't believe it. I wish I had checked my journal earlier as wood_rabbit added me on her flist as she did to all of caerfree's friends. Caer passed away on November 16th, 2010 at 9:00am. Thank you wood rabbit, for letting all of her friends know.

It's unreal. Just over a month ago, I was exchanging comments with her and from her positive updates on her chemo, we all thought she was going to get better. She was a strong, beautiful, courageous, lovely woman who never judged a person even if that person had different viewpoints from her own. We were lj friends for more than 6 years but I knew her in the GW fandom two years earlier.

Caer gave me advice, read and offered her own helpful thoughts and she was one of the most loveliest woman I've had the chance to get to know in life. Wish I was on the other side of the world so that I can attend her wake.

Rest in Peace Babe and love you.

Missing you as ye shall be sorely missed.

Caer Daly

10:49 pm - Doing things by yourself
Ever since I've been back, I've noticed that Malaysians (and other Asians) hate eating alone or doing things by themselves.

It may be that we're a collectivist society and everyone wants to be liked by their peers and not lose face. Everywhere you go, you will see people bringing their whole damn family where ever they go. When my manager wanted to go out for lunch but wanted Chinese food but I wanted Western, I suggested that we go on our separate ways but she whined saying that she didn't want to eat alone and always wanted company around her. It's annoying as hell.

Missing out on things..Collapse )

Work work work. Tap tap tap. Eat eat eat. If someone had told me how tedious corporate life would be, I would have shot myself after I graduated.

04:27 pm - Whoohoo!!
I got a job, whoohoo!! It took me only three weeks to find it but I will be starting on the first of April as an marketing executive. It's for the Integrated Marketing and Communications department in this corporation that handles automobiles. The company is fairly new so I don't know what they're giving me salary wise, but right now, I'm so happy that I don't give a damn. As long as it ain't peanuts, lol.

Hope you all are enjoying your selves! It sucks that I can't get alcohol as easily as I could back in the States but that means I will just have to deal with being sober for the longest until I can get enough money to enjoy a drink in a five star resort or some shit. Haha.

11:47 pm - A fresh start
Happy New Year everybody. Hope you all had fun celebrating the last day of 2009.

This is the year of the tiger, which is coincidentally my zodiac year too. Not sure what to expect in the following months but I know that it will be full of challenges and new experiences.

After living in the U.S. for 10 and a half years, I'm moving back to Malaysia, probably for good. I'm excited yet scared of things to come. Things are different back in Malaysia and I don't want to be disappointed in anyway. But before I rush into finding a job and starting my career, I will be taking a month long vacation visiting the Eastern part of Malaysia, Borneo and Thailand.

So to those that are interested, you'll be hearing more of me from the other side of the world. I might start a new blog but I'll always log into lj to catch up on my flist and to share my pics/stories with you all.

Sayonara for now.

10:46 pm - Grr..
Princess and the Frog would have been enjoyable had it not been for the ghetto-ass people who couldn't stop exclaiming loudly, translating loudly, and just being a whole nuisance in the friggin audience. Plus, their socially akward man-face teenaged girl kept tapping her shoe against my chair. After repeated glares, she would stop and pretend that nothing happened. Oh yeah, then they tried to sneak into another movie but got caught by the usher. I'd go over a whole rant about class, etiquette, social graces and the downward, backwards-ass behaviors of these certain groups of people but no, I'm not gonna go there. Because I'll probably say mean, hurtful things.

Other than that, the songs in the movie were blah, the characters cute but not memorable and why in hell do most of the Disney princes look so gay. He was cute though. If I was Ursula, I'd do him. The movie is not in the same caliber as Pocahontas or Lion King but it was entertaining and fun.
